Bubinga is an African hardwood, similar to rosewoods. Rich color, nice figure and available in wide material. Case is made from a single board.
With seven drawers, it is roomy enough to accommodate decades of earrings, rings, and bracelet acquisitions.
Solid hardwood, handmade jewelry box. This design has been improved and refined since the early 1990s, and has found happy homes throughout the world.
Details include:
~mitered case construction with dovetail splines for strength
~dovetailed solid ash drawer interiors, each drawer individually fitted
~drawers are always consecutive cuts from the same board for consistency
~common species parts are always made from the same board(e.g., cherry case and cherry drawers will be from the same board)
~solid bubinga back
~adjustable solid ash dividers--individual lengths of the divider grid can be removed to create larger spaces
~cotton velvet drawer lining
~all interior parts sealed and finished
~sealed with pure genuine shellac and finished with acrylic satin lacquer
